Life Changing President of the Rotary Club of Imus(RCI), LCP Arturo Rosaroso Jr. collaborated with World Class President and Inner Wheel Club of Mutya ng Imus(IWCMI) Charter President CP Jelyn Laosantos-Maliksi, to facilitate the provision of livelihood support to women despite the continuing crisis brought by the COVID-19 pandemic through a free seminar-workshop on water bonsai making held all over Imus City.

The two-hour bonsai making workshop is part of the program “Katuwaan at Kabuhayan para sa Kababaihan,” a capacity building program of IWCMI for women, disadvantaged individuals and families, to enhance their livelihood resources and to use their capabilities more productively.

The event was attended by women of Imus, members of Rotary Club of Imus and IWCMI. The participants created water bonsai through the facilitation of Rtn. Weng Marquez together with the members of RCI. The outputs were presented to the group and the best water bonsai was chosen through the selection of the jury composed of Rtn. Charlotte Malicsi, PP Roselie Baguio and Rtn. Maria Isabel Dela Cruz.

Rotary Club of Imus sees the workshop as one way of addressing the needs of Imus women to provide for the family, promote mental health, and save the planet through 3R’s (reduce, reuse and recycle) during the pandemic.

Jenny, a participant said, “Malaking tulong sa amin ito kasi nabigyan kami ng kaalaman para magkaroon ng dagdag na paran upang kumita at malibang. Kahit kasi may community quarantine makakagawa ako ng produkto na maari kong ibenta o maibahagi sa iba.” (It is a relief because I have gained knowledge of other means of earning money and of learning a new hobby to create products that I can sell or share with others even if we are still in community quarantine.)

The event was also graced by Rtn. Marriane Pangan, LCP Solid Cavite and District Officers and hosted by Rtn. Albert Roderos.
