Tropical Depression Fabian entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) last July 16, 2pm and left the PAR on 24 July 2021, 2am.

Rosario, Cavite was among the heavily affected during the time that Typhoon Fabian struck the Philippines in the Luzon area.  The small time businesses and workers in the municipality were also affected including the pedicab drivers.Despite the adverse circumstance and harmful effects brought by Typhoon Fabian, pedicab drivers were still on the flooded road working to earn money to sustain their family’s needs for a day.

To help these mighty workers of the community, RC Rosario and RAC Teatro de Salinas once again proved their commitment amidst catastrophic events. LCP Cynthia Mercado and RAC TDS LCP Penelofi Condol together with SDG Sonny G. Mercado donated raincoat for hardworking pedicab drivers in Rosario last July 25. The rain protection items were distributed at the Rotary Center, Rosario, Cavite.

Rotaraincoat focuses on the disease prevention and treatment for it will protect them from getting sick since they work outdoors. The total project cost is PhP 3,000. The project is expected to continue to provide for workers like the pedicab drivers.

According to SDG Sonny Mercado, “This simple act of giving is enough for these people to brighten up their day to feel more excited to work hard for their family. We will continue this kind of project to reach more people also with the help of our donors and sponsors.”

This kind of humanitarian act alone states that two is always better than one. Together, RC Rosario and RAC TDS will continue to Serve to Change Lives.
