The District 3810 Vice Chairman for Peace and Conflict Resolution Past President PCol. Ebra Minalang Moxsir initiated the Webinar Forum for Peace Building and Conflict Prevention/Resolution “Recovering Better for a Sustainable and Equitable World” on Sept 18 via Zoom.
The webinar was a District 3810 activity headed by Life Changing District Governor Robert Koa together with the District Officers namely Chief of Staff Vilma Vinluan, District Secretary Edwin Chiu, DAD Sairah Mandia, DAD Willie Chua, SDG Jouie Gabat, SDG Ken Jamandre, SDG MC Casio, SDG Len Hao, SDG Jardine Bautista, Assistant Governors, Chairman for Peace Raoul Vi, and Chairman for RI Emphasis Task Force PDG Francisco Atayde.
The event was hosted by the Rotary Club of Manila Quiapo Central led by its Life Changing President Engr. Janoden Gubat which was supported by their Charter President Engr. Yussuf Macalangcom, IPP Ghulam Abbas, PP Ebra Moxsir, PP Dr. Lumna Zaman, PP Said Basher, AG Grace Bariga-Ong, Secretary Sittie Norfatimah Moxsir-Mandia, his wife Rtn. Zenaidah Manabilang-Gubat, and all his club members.
The co-host clubs were RC Manila, RC Manila Premier, RC Manila South, RC Manila Jose Rizal, RC Manila Sta.Ana, RC Tondo Manila, RC Manila Metro, RC San Marcelino, RC Manila Maharlika, RC Manila Crown, and RC Pandacan Manila.
The first guest speaker was the PNP Director for Operation PMGen Rhodel Orden Sermonia of Camp Crame who discussed the Role of Law Enforcement in Peace Building and Conflict Prevention, with two LCP Reactors LCP Atty. Joel Jerrer of RC Manila Bay and LCP Dr. Andy Alcantara of RC Manila Metro.
The second speaker was the former Mindanao State University System President Dr. Macapado Abaton Muslim who discussed the Imperatives of Peace Building on Multi Ethnic Countries like the Philippines, with two LCP Reactors LCP Atty. Mario Dioniso Jr. and LCP Nikki Rose Esperanza.
The event was well attended by participants from District 3810 including the District Governor Elect Joyce Ambray, Past District Governor Liza Elorde, District Officers, Charter Presidents, Past Presidents, Life Changing Presidents of different clubs from the areas of Mindoro, Cavite, Pasay, and Manila. The attendees were from our Sister Club from 3780 RC Diliman Heights PP Rose Gonzales, Sister Club from RC Lubang Island LCP Myla Tarriela, RCMQC Club Members, club Members of the co-host clubs, Rotarians, Rotaractors, employees from National Commission on Muslim Filipinos who were invited by our new member Rtn. Junainah Daud-Nuska, National Anti-Poverty Commission Norhainah Lucman and visitors from different areas. The forum was also posted thru the Facebook Live.
The essential reason for this event is to dialogue, collaborate, cooperate and develop a healthy understanding of one another. This is the first step in living with peace and resolving any issues and conflicts encountered because we recognized great diversity of human beings as we come from different backgrounds and traditions with different values.
