The Rotary Club of Manila Quiapo Central Life Changing President Janoden Gubat, Rotary Club of Lubang Island LCP Myla Tarriela, District 3780 Rotary Club of Diliman Central LCP Rhodora Gonzales, and Rotary Club of Diliman Heights LCP Jocel Navarro hosted the joint webinar on Economic and Community Development “Raise the ARCs – our Roadmap to Sustainable Rural Development” through Zoom, Facebook live and YouTube on September 2.
Together with LCP Gubat were his supportive Charter President Engr. Yussuf Macalangcom, IPP Ghulam Abbas, PP Ebra Moxsir, PP Dr. Lumna Zaman, PP Said Basher, AG Grace Bariga-Ong, Secretary Sittie Norfatimah Moxsir-Mandia, his wife Rtn. Zenaidah Manabilang-Gubat, and all his club members.
The speaker of the event was from Department of Agrarian Reform Undersecretary for Support Services Atty. Emily Padilla who discussed providing land tenure security to landless farmers through land acquisition and distribution; leasehold arrangements’ implementation and other LTI services. There were discussions on providing legal intervention to Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBS) through adjudication of agrarian cases and agrarian legal assistance, and to implement, facilitate and coordinate the delivery of support services to ARBs through Social Infrastructure and Local Capability Building (SILCAB); Sustainable Agribusiness and Rural Enterprise Development (SARED); and Access Facilitation and Enhancement Services (AFAES).
She added the implementation of comprehensive and genuine agrarian reform which actualizes equitable land distribution, ownership, agricultural productivity, and tenurial security for the tillers of the land towards the improvement of their quality of life and a just, safe and equitable society that upholds the rights of tillers to own, control, secure, cultivate and enhance their agricultural lands, improve their quality of life towards rural development and national industrialization.
Furthermore, she mentioned the productivity assistance which was coursed through agrarian cooperatives and farmers’ associations, in which more than 3,000 farmers in Quezon will benefit from this assistance.
The event was attended by participants from District 3780 and District 3810 headed by Life Changing District Governor Robert Koa and his District Officers, Past District Governors, Charter Presidents, Past Presidents, Life Changing Presidents of different clubs from Mindoro, Cavite, Pasay, and Manila Areas, our RCMQC Club Members, Rotarians, Rotaractors, employees from National Commission on Muslim Filipinos who were invited by our club new member Rtn. Junainah Daud-Nuska, and visitors from different areas.
This Rotary’s Area of Focus is to have the option to move in the direction of changing the lives of individuals to bring us all together towards improvement and empowerment, showing that we, Rotarians have mutual passion in providing humanitarian services.
