DGE Joyce Ambray
District Govenor-Elect, RY 2022-2023
Rotary Club of Manila Premier

District Governor Robert G. Koa started his Rotary Journey when he joined Rotary Club of Bagumbayan Manila (RCBM) during the Rotary Year 2004-2005. In his first year, he received the “Most Outstanding Baby Rotarian of the Year” and “100% Attendance Award”. The following year he was elected as President-Nominee of RCBM for Rotary Year 2007-2008.
He is the recipient of numerous club and district awards, some of which are: Leadership by Example in Membership Development; Grand Slam award for 2 Most Outstanding Rotarian Awards; Presidential “Service Above Self” Platinum Award; The First Royce Abbey Award in the Philippines and in District 3810; And the award that he cherishes most, the Rotary International Four Avenues of Service Citation for Individual Rotarians.
Furthermore, he has conducted notable projects such as Anti-Child Abuse Campaign, Career Guidance Seminar, Cleft Lip and Palate Operations, and medical and dental missions.
His active involvement in Rotary, especially in the affairs and concerns of the District, were duly recognized by the District’s leaders and which earned for him appointments to various positions such as, but not limited to, Assistant Governor, Senior Deputy Governor for Programs, Chief of Staff, and District Secretary. Always ready to take the lead, you will never hear him whimper nor back down on any task that is assigned to him. And as culmination of his years in service under Rotary, here he is now adding another feather in his cap as the district governor-elect for next year with the Rotary theme “Serve to Change Lives.”
He is a devoted family man who is driven by his favorite quotation: “The love of a Family is life’s greatest blessing.” He is a thoughtful and loving husband to spouse Arlene and an affectionate and indulgent father to their four accomplished children who are likewise imbued with the significance and value of family.
As the Life-Changing District Governor for Rotary Year 2021-2022, he envisions a year where Rotarians grow more and do more, transcending barriers brought by the new normal. He believes that Rotarians share a common desire to serve and change lives, and the way to nurture this bond begins with having a District that’s bonded and supports each other.
