LCP Madel Lai
Rotary Club of Manila Supreme 198
LCP Madel Lai has shown that she is a Leader of Action even before the official start of her presidency. She shares three projects she and her club, the Rotary Club of Manila Supreme 198 (RCMS198), took on in the months leading up to the Life-Changing Year.
EMPOWERING THE YOUTH
May 9 was my first visit to our District Grant beneficiaries. I shared with them what Rotary is and what we do as Rotarians. These young people are from ages 6 to 20 years old in a small town in Batangas. They are all students who want to have a promising future by finishing their studies and serving the Lord and the community. In doing so, they need musical instruments such as piano/organ for their music ministry.
My aim is for them to become Interactors or Rotaractors who are responsible young people imbued with the spirit of volunteerism. But first, we at RC Manila Supreme 198 would like to start a values formation training for them to be civic-minded, goal-oriented, and well-rounded youth. Such values formation training will be done once a month for six months.
LEADERSHIP
Last June 6, 2021, at TRYP by Wyndham, Pasay City, Secretary/PE Glenn Leonardo and I had a face-to-face, one-on-one meeting in preparation for the 1st Serve to Change Lives Club Planning and Goal Setting for Rotary Year 2021-2022.
BRIGADA ESKWELA 2021
RCMS198 and I went to Manila High School to hand over donations of one aircon unit and air purifiers from Champion President/AG Lina Bagsic for the school’s Reading Center. We also donated medical equipment such as blood pressure monitors, pulse oximeters, and infrared thermometers. They will be helpful to students and school personnel should a medical emergency arise in school.
With us during the handover were Principal Amor Dugay, Head Teacher Miriam Pascua, and Master Teacher Lady Chris Leonardo.
