Early this July, a big fire broke out in Ventanilla Street in Pasay City rendering homeless to at least 50 indigent families. These families were temporarily sheltered in Juan Sumulong Elementary School in M. dela Cruz St., Pasay City.
SDG for Pasay Operations, Melvin Ordiales, upon learning this unfortunate incident, grouped and organized Pasay’s Life Changing Presidents (LCPs) to help the affected families in their own simple ways.
This call to action resulted in immediate response to serve 57 families last July 10. The group of Pasay Rotary Clubs provided each family a pailful of grocery items, 2 kilos of rice, face masks, face shields and liquid hand soaps. In addition, each family received another 5 kilos of rice, banig, blanket at loaf bread.
This joint outreach effort was made possible with the participation and contribution of RC Pasay Southeast, RC Pasay Cyber City, RC Pasay EDSA, RC Pasay Business District, RC Pasay Millennium, RC Dewey Blvd. Pasay, RC Pasay Friedens, RC Pasay Silangan and RC Pasay MIA.
