We all know that COVID-19 is caused by a new coronavirus, which was first identified in 2019. COVID-19 also known as SARS CoV-2, the very first time human has been infected with this coronavirus and they have no immunity to it.
Despite of the downward trend in the number of cases nowadays, it still pays to be careful and observe the health protocol. Even fully vaccinated individuals have no guarantee of not acquiring the virus. First we should know the risk of COVID-19 so that we can identify preventions on this kind of virus. COVID-19 is more often severe in people who are older than 60 years old or who have health conditions like lung or heart disease, diabetes or conditions that affect their immune system.
There are some diagnosis that we might do in order to know if a person is infected by COVID-19, these include Reverse Transcriptase- Polymerase Chain (RT-PCR) and also we could run a Blood Testing for us to know if one person is infected or not. Here are tips to prevent the spread of COVID-19

STAY 6 FEET AWAY FROM OTHERS
Inside your Home: Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
Outside your Home: Put 6 feet of distance between yourself and other people who don’t live in your household.
REMEMBER: Some infected people without any signs of symptom may be able to spread virus and infect others.
AVOID CROWDS AND POORLY VENTILATED SPACES
Avoid indoor spaces that do not offer fresh air from the outdoors as much as possible.
If indoors, bring in fresh air by opening windows and doors, if possible.
WASH YOUR HANDS OFTEN
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds specially after you have been in a public place.
COVER COUGHS AND SNEEZES
If you are wearing a mask you can cough or sneeze into your mask. .Put on a new clean mask as soon as possible and wash your hands.
If you are not wearing mask always cover your mouth and nose with tissue when you cough or sneeze, or use the inside of your elbow and do not spit.
CLEAN AND DISINFECT
Clean most often touched surfaces daily. This includes tables, doorknobs, light switches, faucets, and sinks and the like.
If someone is sick or has tested positive for COVID-19, frequently disinfect all touched surfaces.
MONITOR YOUR HEALTH DAILY
Be alert for symptoms. Watch for fever, cough, shortness of breath, and other symptoms of COVID-19.
GET VACCINATED
Authorized COVID-19 vaccines can help you from being infected by the virus. You should get a COVID-19 vaccine as soon as you can.
If you have fever, cough and difficulty in breathing, seek medical attention immediately. Call in advance so your healthcare provider can direct you to the right health facility. This protects you and prevents the spread of viruses and other infections. Note that if you’re a high risk, know what to do, and take the necessary actions immediately without delay.
