Why give to the Rotary Foundation? – It transforms our gifts into service projects that change lives both close to home and around the world. It helps us, Rotarians, to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace, by improving health, providing quality education, improving the environment, and alleviating poverty.

Since the inception of Global Grants in RY 2010-2011, replacing Matching Grants, we at RC Chinatown Manila are thankful to the Rotary Foundation for the Global Grants approved. To summarize:

  • GG 1225675 RY 2011-12 USD35,907.00 “Computer Literacy & Training”. Beneficiary: Tuloy sa Don Bosco Foundation. Intl. Partner D3500 Taiwan. GG 1635814 RY 2015-16 USD82,000.00 “Human Milk Bank Facility”. Beneficiary: Justice Jose Abad Santos Gen. Hospital. Intl. partner: D2820 Tomobe, Japan with cash contributions from foreign sister club, RC Kaohsiung South D3510. Acknowledged as one of the top 20 Global Grant Service Projects during the Rotary Convention in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

  • GG 1863161 RY 2017-18 USD84,000.00 “Hearing and Balance Center”. Beneficiary: Justice Jose Abad Santos Gen. Hospital. Intl. partner D3661 Busan, Korea with cash contributions from foreign sister clubs RC Busan Kwangbok D3661.

Approved October 12, 2021 GG 2231152 RY 2021-22 USD78,800.00 “Upgrading of Human Milk Bank Facility”. Beneficiary: Justice Jose Abad Santos General Hospital. Intl partners D2820 Tomobe, Japan; D3661 Busan Kwangbok, Korea with cash contributions from foreign sister clubs RC Kota Kinabalu South D3310, RC Busan Kwangbok D3661, RC Tomobe, Japan D2820 & RC Kaohsiung South D3510. Implementation and turnover to be done within RY 2021-2022.

We have also contributed to our foreign sister clubs for their Global Grants thru PHF assignment:
RC Kaohsiung South D3510 Volunteer Training & Kitchen Equip Plan. Proj. Cost USD38,600.00 GG 1869329; RC Taipei Prosperity D3523 Liver Disease Eradication. Proj. Cost USD80,058.00 GG 1979777.

RC Chinatown keeps doing good in the world.
