“How important is education?” that’s the question in my mind, and I also know many parents like us are asking the same question, especially in this time of pandemic.
Sometimes one rainy morning, I saw a child and mother walking with the child holding papers and a bit wet from the rain, I felt pity, so I asked them, where they were going? They said, they were going to her friend’s neighbor to ask for help about a subject, because I can’t understand the module. I can’t ask my neighbors because we are both poorly educated, she added. I just smiled and say SIGE INGAT KAYO.
As I thought of them, I suddenly remembered Rotarian Emerson Grepo. He and his church members share constant help, we talked about how to reduce even a little the difficulty of parents in guiding their children, especially now that there is no face to face in schools and modules are the only way to study.
And so, it happened, at Brgy. San Rafael III in Noveleta, Cavite, we gathered the children from different grade levels in elementary to give them free tutorial in their lesson, with some little snack to make their lesson more enjoyable. And we are planning to make this regularly specially on the day of their major examinations.
