The Rotary Club of Imus, City Government of Imus, and NGOs held a bloodletting activity in Imus last September 5. RCI partnered with Inner Wheel Club of Mutya ng Imus, Solid Cavite Life Changing Presidents, Dugong Alay Dugtong Buhay Inc., and the City Government of Imus to hold a bloodletting activity to augment the inadequate blood supply amid the increasing demand from patients suffering from COVID-19 disease.
Through the Dugo Mo, Buhay Ko! activity sanctioned by the Rotary International District 3810, RCI together with partners spearheaded the event with the theme: A blood today is a blood we need for tomorrow at the Robinson Place Imus, 4th floor from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. A total of 112 bloods donors from Interagency offices, civic organizations, Non-Government Organizations and private individuals donated blood and volunteered services during the event.
RCI Life Changing President Arturo Rosaroso Jr. said that the activity was held at Robinson’s Place for its accessibility and it was conducted with utmost care and strict compliance with minimum health protocols.
“I could confidently say that this activity is a success because we have partnered with many NGOs which brought a greater number of donors from various places and organizations who showed pure intention to save other people’s lives especially now that we are in great crisis and many patients need blood due to the pandemic that we experience at present.”, he mentioned
Over 90 bags of blood were collected during the bloodletting activity through the assistance of volunteer medical practitioners from ACE Medical Center – Pateros, headed by Mc Kevin Palattao, RMT, MLS (ASCPi) and Blood Bank Head Medical Technologist with his staff Rem Paul Bautista, MD, Chrislyn Alvar, RMT, Charmaine Alcabaza, RMT, Reniela Marie Berzuela, RMT, Jenelyn Agbalog, Richard Gomez and Nestor Capungcol.
