LCP Nikki believes that books are a portable magic, thus, Rotary Club of Ermita Manila District 3810 conducted a Book Donation and Tumbler Distribution from July 13-16 in Capiz.
One of the core projects of Ermita Manila is Book Donation and Tumbler Distribution to the students in the country. For the past years, RCEM has distributed thousands of books to the students through the help of generous donors. This year, RCEM has decided to implement the project in Capiz, where farming and fishing are the primary sources of income of the people there. Dubbed as the, “Seafood Capital of the Philippines” which Capiz boasts of its beautiful landscape and nature. For one week, RCEM identified public schools which needed most of the club service, thus, for almost one week, RCEM had tirelessly turned over the books and tumbler to schools through their respective representatives.
Every child has the right to free and quality education. As the country shifted from traditional mode of learning to distance learning, disparity among the rich and poor students has become apparent. RCEM is committed in providing support especially to the public schools which are the most affected in the sudden shift of Education modalities considering the limitations in terms of internet, gadgets to be used online, learning materials and skills. The books and tumblers distributed to eleven public schools in Capiz will be used by the public-school students as they continue their journey towards another year of academic calendar. The books will at least aid in narrowing the gap by providing learning materials that will help the students in understanding their lessons.
Each school got 120pcs tumblers such as: (1) Quinat-uyan Elem. School in Pres. Roxas, Capiz, Maayon, Capiz; ( 2) Panit-an Central School in Panit-an Capiz; (3) Cabugcabug Elementary School in Pres. Roxas, Capiz ; (4) Vedasto T. Javelosa Elem. School in Pres. Roxas, Capiz; (5) Carmencita-Sto. Niño Elem. School in Pres. Roxas, Capiz; (6) Aranguel Elem. School in Pres. Roxas, Capiz; (7) Quiajo Elem. School in Pres. Roxas, Capiz; (8) Domingo M. Locsin Elem. School in Pres. Roxas, Capiz; (9) Pres. Roxas East Elem. School in Pres. Roxas, Capiz; (10) Pres. Roxas West Elem. School in Pres. Roxas, Capiz; and (11) Manoling Elem. School in Pres. Roxas, Capiz.
