Rotary Year 2021 -2022 begins on July 1, 2021, under the leadership of RI President Shekhar Mehta. RI President Shekhar gathered all governors-elect last February 1-11, 2021, for a virtual International Assembly to prepare for this Rotary Year. During the Assembly, he encouraged all incoming Governors and Rotarians to Do More, Grow More as he introduced the year’s theme: Serve to Change Lives.
RI President Shekhar asks Rotarians wherever they may be to dream big goals and to lead others to achieve those goals. In particular, he wants districts and clubs to expand Rotary’s reach by growing their membership and to increase Rotary’s impact by doing something life-changing for their communities and even for the world.
He asks Rotary clubs to rise to the challenge of increasing Rotary’s membership from 1.2 million to 1.3 million by July 1, 2022. He believes that this is achievable if each Rotarian brings one new member to the club and inspires that new member to stay by being a living example of a good Rotarian.
RI President Shekhar believes that Together We Serve to Change Lives. Rotary clubs and partners can do more for their communities by executing highly impactful, worthy, doable, and sustainable projects that improve the lives of those most in need.
Each Rotarian is called to serve and change lives. Let our Rotary motto of Service Above Self be our guide as we traverse the road towards changing lives, including our own.
Happy New Rotary Year 2021-2022 Life-Changing Rotarian brothers and sisters!
