The Rotary Club of Imus (RCI) in partnership with Inner Wheel Club of Mutya ng Imus (IWCMI), provided 200 school kits, hygiene kits, and snack packs to deserving struggling learners of Imus National High School as part of Brigada Eskwela activities on October 22 at INHS covered court, Bucandala III, City of Imus, Cavite.
The program is also a COVID-19 response action as the recipients and their families were given cleaning and hygiene kits to be used in fighting against corona virus. Moreover, a short Wash in Schools (WINS) orientation was held during the event, highlighting the proper handwashing procedure as demonstrated by Ma. Jocelyn T. Torcuator, INHS WINS Coordinator.
According to Cristina I. Ante, INHS Brigada Eskwela Coordinator, they chose the 200 learners to receive the kits because they are identified as struggling learners due to lack of study materials, but they have the passion and hunger for knowledge.
“With the help of advisers, we selected those who are most deserving,” she says. “Since the supplies are limited, we made the selection per year level, as recommended by their advisers.”
RCI Life Changing President Arturo P. Rosaroso Jr., INHS Principal IV and Jelyn Laosantos Maliksi IWCMI Charter President appealed to the beneficiaries of the program to support their advocacy of helping the Imuseños rise above the COVID-19 pandemic and the guarantee that all batang Imuseños get the same quality and standard education.
